SUMMER of '86 at 618 Tap House
Join me Friday, November 13th, from 7–9 p.m. for my last show of the year at 618!
If you haven’t caught a SUMMER of ’86 show yet, the name gives you a clue, but the music stretches well beyond one decade. I play songs from 1950 all the way through 2010, with a heavy dose of the ’80s. That leaves room for the classics you grew up hearing, the songs you turned up as a teenager, and the ones that have followed you through every stage of your life.
The ’80s are at the heart of it for me. The big choruses, the melodies, the voices you recognize within seconds—there’s a reason we’re still singing those songs decades later. But I also love moving through different eras and seeing which song gets someone smiling, singing from their table, or turning to a friend with that “I haven’t heard this in forever!” look.
I put a lot of thought into what makes my set list. I have to love the song, feel connected to it, and believe I can do it justice. I’m thinking about what it means to me, but also what it might mean to somebody listening. Sometimes a familiar favorite brings the room together. Sometimes a song you weren’t expecting ends up being the one you remember on the drive home.
That connection is what makes live shows special to me. I get to share music that’s been a huge part of my life and hear you sing it back. Every room brings something different, and I appreciate everyone who chooses to spend part of their evening with me.
We’ve got two hours together on November 13th. Bring your friends, grab your favorite drink, and come ready for a trip through six decades of music. If you’ve been meaning to catch me at 618, this is your last chance here this year.
Let’s give this year at 618 Tap House a send-off worth remembering!
