Summer Haiku Workshop for Children

We invite families to come along to The Japan Society’s in-person session led by internationally acclaimed poet, Paul Conneally!
Did you know that haiku are usually seasonal and they don’t even have to be 5-7-5 syllables? Find out what really makes a haiku and join Paul on a short ‘haiku walk’ to get the ideas flowing before writing your own poems!
Event Schedule
Participants are welcome to arrive from 10.30 for casual origami, refreshments, and trips to the bathroom prior to the walk.
10.50am - Haiku workshop start
11.05am - Join Paul on a ‘Haiku Walk’
11.30am - Write your own haiku
11.45am - Share and read aloud haiku
12.00pm - Session ends, stick around for refreshments and origami until 12.30!
