You don't need another thing on your calendar that asks you to perform, network, or "show up" a certain way.

This is two hours to do the opposite. Sit down. Get supported — literally, in an anti-gravity chair — and let ceremonial cacao and live sound work together to bring your body out of fight-or-flight and into a state it rarely gets to visit: rest.

About the cacao

We're working with ceremonial-grade cacao — not the sugar-loaded stuff in your pantry. It's minimally processed, rich in theobromine (a gentle, heart-opening stimulant that's nothing like caffeine's jittery edge), and it's been used for centuries to support presence and emotional openness.

Physiologically, it increases blood flow and circulation. Energetically, people describe it as softening the chest and quieting the mental noise. You'll drink it together, in ceremony, before the sound begins — giving your body time to settle in before the vibration starts working.

About the sound healing

This is where the science comes in. Sound isn't just relaxing — it's a direct input to your nervous system. Certain frequencies and rhythms can shift your brainwaves toward theta and delta states, the same states your body enters in deep rest and sleep. Live gongs, bowls, and vocal toning create a wall of vibration your body responds to before your mind even catches up.

This isn't about "vibing out." It's about giving your nervous system a felt experience of safety — something most of us are chronically starved for.

Meet your guide

Megan Hoeffner, founder of The Embodied Warrior and TEW School of Yoga + Sound.

I've spent 18+ years teaching yoga, sound healing, and personal training — and I hold an MS in Applied Health Physiology and an ERYT 500+ certification. But the credentials aren't the point. The point is this: I got tired of wellness spaces that ask you to relax without ever actually working with your nervous system. So I built my practice around the science of what actually helps your body feel safe — not just "calm" for an hour, but genuinely regulated.

I've led this work in studios, retreats, and trainings around the world, and I'm just as invested in bringing it home — here, local, in person, with this community. This ceremony is part of that.

The anti-gravity chairs

For this ceremony, you'll be fully supported in anti-gravity chairs — zero-gravity positioning that takes pressure off your spine and joints so your body can fully let go. No sitting cross-legged, no shifting around trying to get comfortable. Just full-body support so all your energy can go toward receiving.
