Summer is here! Let's celebrate at Windchaser Wine in Richmond with an afternoon of blues and boogie- woogie with some of the best players alive.
Music starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 6. This event is FREE, but tipping is encouraged.
STEVE FREUND, praised by Rolling Stone for his "masterful, no-nonsense guitar work," has appeared on over 50 albums and produced seven. In 1978, he became Sunnyland Slim's main guitarist, playing alongside the piano legend at nearly every gig until the time of his death. Freund became the consummate piano accompanist, working with Pinetop Perkins, Jimmy Walker, Henry Gray, Erwin Helfer and many more.
WENDY DeWITT (keyboards and vocals), the "Queen Of Boogie Woogie," performs at festivals and leads workshops and master classes around the US, Caribbean and Europe. She toured with Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, seeing firsthand the evolution of blues to rock and roll, and has performed with Joe Lewis Walker, Big Time Sarah, Otis Rush and more.
KIRK HARWOOD (drums) has toured or recorded with an impressive roster of prominent roots, blues, and rock musicians. He is best known for his partnership with boogie-woogie pianist and vocalist Wendy DeWitt.
