About this Event
Transforming turfgrass landscapes into vibrant habitats offers important benefits for pollinators, wildlife, and the microbes that sustain soil health. This presentation begins by exploring the history and environmental impact of lawns in America. From there, we’ll dive into strategies for removing grass, enhancing soil health, and implementing lawn alternatives that foster biodiversity. Learn how impactful changes can transform your yard into a sanctuary that nurtures life, promotes ecological balance, and inspires a deeper connection with nature.
Our speaker will be Linda Nelson, Bee Good Garden Design. She holds an Associate of Science Degree in Horticulture Technology and a Certificate in Landscape Design as well as a Certificate of Native Plant Studies from UNCC Botanical Garden. She is also founder & current president of the Charlotte Piedmont Chapter of Wild Ones, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting native plants in the landscape.
