For the past seven years, photographer Jason Langer has documented Portland's unique EXOTIC DANCE, BURLESQUE, CIRCUS AND DRAG culture through portraiture and oral history, creating an intimate record of the performers whose lives and stories have helped shape the city's identity. Subrosa & the Cult of Aphrodite is both an art book and a cultural document, exploring themes of performance, labor, sexual identity, agency, and community. This event raises support for the publication and distribution of the book, helping preserve an important chapter of Oregon's cultural history and bring these stories to a wider audience.

We're opening the doors of the Rae Loft event space for a ONE-NIGHT-ONLY BOOK RELEASE & FUNDRAISING EVENT celebrating the artists, stories, photographs, and community behind this extraordinary project.
