Swing by the Marie Equi Center to view Safad Ziyaad's newest art collection 'Home: in Diaspora', and bring your unwanted art supplies & clothing of all sizes to trade out for new items that inspire you.

Safad Ziyaad (they/any) is a Palestinian textile artist located in Portland. The goal of their work is to express queer joy, resilience, and liberation by using textiles and other materials on their way to landwaste to create wearable and decorative art.

'Home: in Diaspora' is a series of mixed media paintings that express some of the nostalgia & heartache that comes with being in diaspora. Multi-generational resilience often comes from dwelling on the beautiful moments in life: drinking a cup of tea, the light dancing through grape leaves, laughter with loved ones, the memory of a home now lost. This is a one-day show that will end with each piece being given away in a raffle that is available for ticket purchase throughout the event.
