From Stroke Survivor to Half-Marathon Runner ❤️
On November 18, 2025, our lives changed forever.
My husband, Jathan, suffered a stroke at just 46 years old. In an instant, the future we had imagined together looked very different. There were moments of fear, uncertainty, and questions about what recovery would look like.
But Jathan kept fighting.
The road back hasn’t always been easy, but he has continued to push forward—one day, one step, and one challenge at a time. Now, he is taking on something we once might never have imagined: running a half marathon.
This race means so much more to us than crossing a finish line.
Jathan is running as a stroke survivor. He is running for the people who are still fighting their way through recovery. He is running for the families who have sat in hospital rooms wondering what the future would hold. And he is running to show that a stroke can change your life, but it does not have to define the rest of it.
We are starting this fundraiser for the American Heart Association because we want to turn Jathan’s journey into hope for others. Every donation, no matter the amount, can help support lifesaving research, stroke education, prevention, and resources for survivors and their families.
For us, this isn’t just a race.
It is a celebration of how far Jathan has come.
It is a reminder of how precious life is.
And it is a way to honor the people who helped him get here while helping others who may someday face the same battle.
