Over the past several years, Sacramento has adopted several policies to streamline housing production - removing barriers to the production of smaller housing units across the city via its ADU program and missing middle housing initiative. Earlier this year, Mayor Kevin McCarty and Councilmember Phil Pluckebaum asked staff to identify and remove additional barriers to production within the city building department. We will hear from Councilmember Pluckebaum and Community Development Department Assistant Director Matt Hertel on the status of the Streamline Sacramento efforts and how this work can amplify other initiatives to accelerate housing production in the region.
