Stream Team Survey

Bear Creek has changed a lot in the past 20 years mainly thanks to clean-up efforts and establishing the Sodalis Nature Preserve 10 years ago. Bear Creek has had many lives from the bears that once made their dens in the old sycamores 200 years ago to being used as a dumping ground to, now, being a mostly clear stream supporting a variety of critters. It’s certainly affected by flooding upriver and downriver as it flows into the Mississippi. Becca Romig, Missouri Master Naturalist and certified Stream Team member, will guide us in using the Stream Team monitoring techniques to evaluate the health of Bear Creek. Wear water shoes or old sneakers and expect to get wet.
