Composition and Collage Workshop
About this Event
The Hannibal Art Club, in partnership with the Hannibal Arts Council, will host a Composition and Collage Workshop from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 South Main Street.
The day-long workshop will be led by watercolor and mixed media artist Carolyn Owen Sommer of Springfield, Illinois. During the session, Sommer will share the inspiration behind her artwork and explore how color, design, and composition work together to create compelling visual pieces.
Designed for artists of all experience levels, the workshop will introduce participants to key principles of design and composition that can strengthen and energize their creative practice. Through hands-on instruction and guided exploration, attendees will create their own collage artwork to take home at the end of the day.
Sommer is a highly respected artist and educator who regularly teaches at Lincoln Land Community College, Gaslight Artist's Colony, Pere Marquette State Park, and the Sangamon Watercolor Society.
Workshop space is limited, and advance registration is required. The cost is $45 for the general public and $40 for Hannibal Art Club members. A supply list and additional workshop information will be provided upon registration.
