Storytime and Poetry from Ink
About this Event
Ink Storytime & Poetry
Come and find out more about UpFront Survivors Gloucester and take part in making stories and poetry from inky mess, led by Danielle.
We'll use:
- Ink
- Watercolours
- Or just a pen and water
All materials provided
How?
- Splash, smear, or drip ink onto the page.
- Let it dry — or don’t.
- Sit with the shapes. What’s looking back at you? A flock of birds? A busy city? Trees moving in the wind?
- Write fast. Write instinctively. Let the story come only from what the ink blot reveals.
- Don’t edit. Don’t explain. Follow the image.
Bonus
- Write while the ink is still moving.
- Let it bleed through your words.
- Let the mess interrupt the sentence.
- Let the page decide the ending.
All of our workshops are open to CSA survivors, friends and allies, aged 18+

About Danielle
Danielle uses poetry to make dark things beautiful. She describes her style as classic tragedy. She wants to create work that is beautiful and disturbing at the same time so that the audience can feel connection to the beautiful side and compassion for the disturbing.
