Join these two multidisciplinary artists and theatre makers for this full afternoon workshop; featuring Spoken Word and Creative Writing with Naomi Wood + Body Language and Dramaturgy with Beatrix Carlotta.
Come develop your practice further and see what you can create by working through a creative writing process to build a foundation, then furthering your knowledge of character work, movement and staging to apply to the stories we share and perform!

Naomi is a spoken word performer and theatre maker, celebrating rebellion and reveling in rage whilst maintaining a healthy preoccupation with the eroticism of bird feeders.
Her solo spoken word show 'Gobbess' - which has toured the UK and internationally, with shows at Edinburgh Fringe, Glastonbury Festival and in Oslo, has been described as 'a mic drop on women's experiences' (Brighton Fringe audience).
Naomi has been published by Backlash Press and Ink, Sweat and Tears and was recently shortlisted for The Bournemouth Writing Prize as well as longlisted by Black Cat Poetry Press last year.
Her new show Monster has been described as 'Funny intelligent and deeply human. Bold unpredictable and intimate' (Bespoke Black Book) and 'Expressive and captivating, with Fleabag-like intensity, witty, heartfelt and hilarious.' (Reviews Hub). Monster is currently touring the UK.
Beatrix is a writer, comic, cabaret artist, director and producer whose work blends storytelling, physical theatre, performance art and clowning.
She's produced shows such as Fetish Theatre; a series of physical theatre narrative plays on lifestyle kink, Wicked Cycles; a vaudevillian cabaret on the woes and whimsy of wombs, JEST; a clowning, sketch and standup comedy showcase.
Her solo show ‘Clowns Can’t’ [a Comedy on Communication Delivered by a Clown] is a playful, poetic and vulnerable comedy production on fertility, disability, community and purpose which audiences reviewed with “Provides laugh out loud, relatable and embarrassing anecdotes”, “Shares the reality of the giving of humour and relatable self deprecation”, and “An ability to find humour in a personal, challenging situation.”
Her latest show "I'm Rambling Here!" [an Italian American's Guide to England] is a one woman stand up comedy special on assimilation, identity, aging and authenticity which audiences have described as "Such a great show!", "Incredible storyteller", "Hilarious life affirming stand up comedy with a totally unique perspective", "Loved the cultural jokes and nuances that anyone who is an immigrant or has close friends would totally get", and "Hilarious points. Well made."
“I’m Rambling Here!” is showing at Camden Fringe Festival 2026.
Both facilitators have years of experience teaching and leading workshops in their fields, as well as collaborating in the performing arts together as practitioners.
