Discover a unique exhibition bringing together historical photographs of Sudan taken in the 1970s by photographer Jill Orpen and artworks created today by children taking part in Green Kordofan’s art programme in Yida refugee camp, South Sudan.

Meet the people, places and stories behind the photographs, and discover Sudan through the eyes of those who know it best. Together, the photographs and artworks tell stories of everyday life, memory, creativity and resilience across about 50 years.

Jill Orpen donated this collection of photographs to Green Kordofan for exhibition and to raise funds. Sales from the exhibition will help Green Kordofan provide art and music classes, sports activities and other educational opportunities for children displaced by war in Yida refugee camp.
