Stoneware Mugs & Planters- Handbuilding class
You’ll learn beginner-friendly handbuilding techniques while shaping and customizing your piece with handles, textures, stamps, and decorative details. We’ll be using durable stoneware clay and specialty glazes, making your finished project both beautiful and functional for everyday use.
Your clay handbuilding workshop includes TWO visits:
• Visit 1: Build and decorate your mug or planter
• Visit 2: Return after firing to glaze your piece in the colors of your choice
No experience is necessary — all experience levels are welcome!
Been to a clay class before?
Returning students are welcome to get even more creative:
• Build larger planters using studio forms
• Bring your own form or mold if you’d like
• Pay for clay by weight for larger or expanded projects
We anticipate this workshop will take approximately 2 hours. A $10 instructional fee is due at sign-up, and you’ll pay for your project the night of the workshop. Most projects average about $45 total, though larger pieces may incur additional cost.
This workshop is designed for ages 16 and over, with all experience levels welcome. Teens ages 13–15 may also attend when accompanied by a participating paid adult.
