Still Life Drawing Class

Welcome to a mindful Still Life drawing class!

A still life class for all, led by local artist Laura Tillotson. Suitable for both experienced artists and beginners alike. Let the class unwind your mind as we focus on observational drawing for a full hour, witnessing improvements in your skills week by week.

During this class, you will have the opportunity to focus on the present moment as you sketch a variety of still life arrangements. This class is a great way to explore your creativity in a supportive environment.

Each session will feature an array of objects such as pots, rags, candlesticks, and intriguing found items, changing weekly. Feel free to bring your personal objects for drawing.Throughout the class, we'll engage in timed exercises ranging from 2 to 30 minutes, starting with understanding basic principles of proportions and light quality. As we progress, enjoy the soothing ambiance of quiet music as we end the class with a longer final drawing.

Materials including charcoal, paper, and pastels are provided, but you're welcome to bring your own supplies. As a nurturing and enthusiastic teacher with a Masters degree in Painting, Laura is committed to fostering your artistic journey.
