Steve Brown Poetry Performance

Join us at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts for an intimate evening of poetry and performance with author, visual artist, and Michigan native Steve Brown. Reading from across his body of work—including his poetry collections Trample & Sew, News of Need, and his latest release, Fellowship—Steve brings a dynamic, multidisciplinary presence to the stage. His work seamlessly weaves together observations of nature, acute human behavior, and the subtle, unspoken tensions that tie the two together. Whether drawing on family history or sharp-eyed social reflection, Steve’s readings reflect a rich creative journey shaped by his roots in Flint, art studies in Germany and Detroit, and dedicated community advocacy.
This special preview reading serves as a gateway to Saturday's workshop, offering audience members an opportunity to experience Steve Brown live and participate in a community gathering celebrating regional literature. The performance takes place on Tuesday, September 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at LACA. Admission is open to the public with a $5.00 suggested donation at the door to support LACA.
