Jazz vocalist and trombonist Steve Berndt has recorded 6 albums and toured internationally with his Jump Blues group The Jivewires, recorded two critically acclaimed albums with famed Steinway pianist Brian Browne and won "Best Original Song" at the Independent Films Awards in Los Angeles for his composition "Blue Skies On Mars". In January 2026 Steve released a first solo album, "Heart Of Hearts" which has garnered rave reviews and airplay in Canada, the U.S. and throughout Europe, hitting number 2 on the !Earshot jazz charts for the Canadian college radio circuit in March. Joined by the musicians who recorded "Heart Of Hearts", Steve brings his heartfelt originals and sophisticated arrangements to the 2026 Ottawa Jazz Festival.
