Date/Time - Saturday Aug 1 - 1:00pm
Cost: $1 IFPA Fee
Format: At the start of the tournament all players will be sorted into factions - either Autobots or Decepticons - Factions will be determined by sorting players by their current IFPA ranking and alternating factions assignment (Top rank Autobot, 2nd highest Decepticon, so forth...). Each faction will play their own separate qualifying consisting of 8 rounds of group matchplay.
Once both factions have played 8 rounds, qualifying will end and Finals will be begin.
Finals - The number of players to finals will be determined by the total number of qualified players.
If 8-15 players - Top 4 (Top 2 from each faction)
If 16-31 players - Top 8 (Top 4 from each faction)
If 32+ players - Top 16 (Top 8 from each faction)
If any tiebreakers are necessary to determine who is in finals, tiebreakers will be played out on Transformers.
Finals will be a single elimination bracket. Seeding will alternate by faction. The Top player from each faction will play one game of Transformers to determine which faction receives the high seed. Any other seeding ties will be broke by automatic tiebreakers.
The number of games in Finals will be determined by the number of players in Finals.
If Top 4 - Best of 7 - Each player selects one Modern, one mid, and one classic. No game can be played by the same group twice in one round. Top seed gets first choice of game or order (state finals rules). If there is a game 7, top seed will select any game not already played that round
If Top 8 - Best of 5 - Each player selects 2 modern OR Mids and two classics. If there is a game 5, top seed will select any game not already played that round
If Top 16 - Best of 3 - Each player selects any game. If there is a game 3, top seed will select any game not already played that round.
Once it is down to the final two players - ALL games will be played on Transformers in either a Best of 3,5,or 7.
If any updates or changes are made, they will be announced here and before the event.
Winner will receive a Transformers translite and plaque. There will be Transformers themed prizes for other top finishers and random door prizes.
