About this Event

STEM Talk: Research in Sleep & Health (Dr. Emma Gale)

Ash 10 - Biology Lab

Join us for an inspiring talk by an esteemed Wyke College alumna who has carved a remarkable path in academic research, focusing on the multifaceted world of sleep health and public policy. With a first-class BSc in Human Biology from the University of Birmingham, an MSc in Sleep Medicine from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in Child and Adolescent Public Health from the University of St Andrews, she has become a leading researcher in her field.

In this engaging session, she will delve into how sleep impacts various aspects of life, particularly for 6-18 year olds, exploring the connections between sleep, health inequalities, and educational attainment. Her work not only advances scientific understanding but also informs public policy, making this talk highly relevant for students interested in social or health policy, as well as those pursuing careers in education and government. Discover how her research contributes to shaping policies that address sleep-related health disparities and improve outcomes for young people globally.
