Get your year underway with the PopRox Summer Refresh! Sharpen those basic improv skills so you’re ready to thrive in 2025 with a solid foundation.Status is how we play with the power dynamics between characters. How we play to and against our status and find the moments where the power shifts is essential to building good scenes with interesting characters. In this 3 hour workshop, you'll refresh the basics of what status is, how it works and how we can use it to find games and build relationships in scenes.
ABOUT THE TEACHER
Jed Davies has been improvising around Te Whanganui a Tara since 2012, with companies like PlayShop, PopRox, The Big Hoo Haa, Soap Factory and others. Known for bold support moves, satisfying story conclusions, and 'deliciously macabre delivery' (Regional News), his work focuses on genre, playfulness, and commitment.

PopRox firmly believes that improv is for everyone, especially when it comes to sharing skills and knowledge. So we're offering "the stand-by list" for all our workshops in 2025. We'll giveaway any spots remaining a few days before the first workshop of the course, on a first-come-first-serve basis. No need to provide a reason, no questions asked. If the entry fee is a barrier for you to come along, then simply email [email protected] and we'll pop you on the SBL. Everyone on the list will be notified whether there was a place available for them 3 days before the workshop.
