'I found the workshop really interesting and engaging. I really appreciated the non-judgmental space to look at new concepts with, particularly with comments regarding how to stylise the movements as might suit a particular performance...'

'Fergus' Physical Theatre and Mime Workshop was not only incredibly fun, but extremely interesting and important to understand how I can utilise my own body and my own creativity to extend and grow my own performance art practices. His methods of working engaged our class and kept us thinking and learning more about our own bodies and how we can maximise our abilities to achieve personal success. For anyone looking to learn more and further their own personal development in movement and theatre, I highly recommend working with Fergus and attending his workshops, it really was a whole lot of fun...'
Ryan Holtham

'The creative and explorative nature of the tasks means it'll be a valuable experience for seasoned performers just as much as for people new to theatre. It was a comfortable environment in which we were easily able to work at our own pace, clear consideration is given to our needs, emphasising the importance of self maintenance such as remembering to breath and to hydrate. We covered so much in a day that seemed to breeze by...'

'Fergus' Mime and Physical Theatre Workshop was a truly joyous experience. The day progressed through a logical flow of games and exercises exploring different facets of mime. There was an ideal balance of technique and play. Fergus' wealth of teaching and practical experience means that people of all ages and levels of experience can gain so much from his workshops. There was a real creative buzz in the room, and all participants bounced out when the day was done. I would heartily recommend these workshops to anyone keen to expand their creative practice...'

For many years Fergus has taught extensively, presenting public workshops in many centres around NZ and in Melbourne, and working at primary, secondary and tertiary education levels. He has been a core tutor in movement and acting for stage at Te Auaha's Stage & Screen course, and was an annual guest physical theatre tutor throughout the duration of CircoArts in Christchurch.
Fergus has had a 40+ year career in performing arts, playing character comedy, stand-up and visual theatre in over a dozen countries worldwide since 1984. From arts festival stages to busking in the streets and festivals of Europe and Australasia, Fergus has played at almost every kind of event. He appears regularly as a corporate presenter, stand-up comedian, character actor and director.
In 2023 he presented an ambitious new visual theatre show for all ages, MR FUNGUS DREAMS, at Circa Theatre, Wellington.
This project combined puppetry, projected visuals and UV illusions, achieved a sold-out season and was highly acclaimed.
