Measurement systems inherently include errors that affect results in two ways: random variability and systematic error. Before evaluating accuracy (systematic error), it is essential to first assess variability (random error). A clear understanding of variability across the operational range enables better prediction of a method's reliability and usefulness. Precision studies, supported by statistical tools, are key to quantifying this variability. In this session, you’ll learn how to:

• Formulate an appropriate statistical hypothesis from the available data.
• Choose the correct statistical test to evaluate that hypothesis.

Guillermo Candelario is a senior consultant for the biopharmaceutical industry with over 40 years of experience and proven record of significant, successful contribution in Quality Systems, Laboratory controls and industry remediation projects. Has been providing consultancy services and technical lectures to industries in Europe, India, Japan and Latin America. Has been a lecturer for the Colegio de Químicos de Puerto Rico for over 30 years on analytical measurement topics. He is also auditor for ISO 9001and GMP standards. He possesses a BS in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico and a M.S. in Chemistry from Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico.
