About this Event

This event will take place on Thursday, September 24, from 12:00-1:00 pm Central Time in person in Lubar Commons (Room 7200) at the UW Law School, with the option to attend virtually. This panel has been approved for 1 WI CLE credit.

This panel will focus on distinctive approaches to criminal law issues under state constitutions. We will cover a range of topics, including protections against cruel and unusual punishment, limits of unreasonable searches and seizures, rights of juvenile offenders, Pr*son conditions, and the rights of incarcerated people. Panelists include Professor Adam Davidson (University of Chicago Law School), Professor Martha Davis (Northeastern Law School), Christine Monta (MacArthur Justice Center), and Matthew Segal (ACLU), with SDRI Faculty Co-Director Professor Miriam Seifter moderating.
