OVERVIEW

This 30-hour training program is intended to provide supervisor, management and health hazard information tailored specifically to Marine Shipyard employees.

Objectives include:

• Providing employees, supervisors and managers, the skills to recognize, avoid, control, abate and prevent injuries and accidents in the maritime environment.
• Informing workers about their rights and their employer’s responsibilities and explaining how to file a complaint with OSHA.
• Educating workers on a variety of safety topics which workers may encounter at a Marine Shipyard.

Marine Shipyard and Related Employment

The term “shipyard employment” means ship repairing, shipbuilding, shipbreaking and related employments.

The term “related employment” means any employment performed as an incident to or in conjunction with ship repairing, shipbuilding or shipbreaking work, including, but not restricted to, inspection, testing, and employment as a watchman.

When you successfully complete OSHA 30-hour training, you will receive an official OSHA 30 DOL card Maritime Industry.
