Meet at 8:30am in the car park at the end of Mary Street, Waterman. To get there, turn off West Coast Highway at Mary Street, and drive to the small car park at the end of the road. Alternatively, from Marmion Avenue, turn left into Beach Road, left into Ethel Street, and then left into Mary Street.
Species that may be found here include Splendid and Variegated Fairy-wrens, Southern Boobook and Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo. Star Swamp is part of the Northern Swan Coastal Plain Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) for Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo and has Tuart and banksia woodland and heath. A variety of raptors and bush birds can be seen. Over 70 species of birds have been recorded here.
Bring a chair and morning tea to have while the bird list is compiled.
