Standard Mental Health First Aid 26-27 Oct 26
About this Event
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised course that equips participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise, respond to and support someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.
This 2-day, face-to-face course teaches practical strategies for recognising common mental health conditions, having supportive conversations, responding to crises, and encouraging appropriate professional help. Using the evidence-based MHFA Action Plan, you'll develop the confidence to provide initial support until professional or other supports can be accessed.
Suitable for leaders, supervisors, HR professionals, educators, frontline workers, community members, and anyone wanting to better support the mental health and wellbeing of others.
What you'll learn:
- Recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems
- Respond to mental health crises
- Have supportive conversations with confidence
- Encourage professional help and other supports
- Reduce stigma and promote early intervention
- Apply the MHFA Action Plan in real-world situations
Participants who complete the course receive a Mental Health First Aid Certificate of Completion and may choose to undertake accreditation as an MHFAider®.
