Doug Sprouse is a lifelong resident of NWA. He grew up in Springdale, where he and his family operated a small business for 35 years. From 1999-2008, he served on the Springdale School Board, serving as president from 2005-2007.
In 2008, he was elected mayor of the City of Springdale. He was re-elected in 2012, 2016, 2020, and in 2024 without opposition. He served as President of the Arkansas Municipal League from 2017-2018, and continues as a member of their Past President’s Advisory Council.
He is in his second term on the State 911 Board. Doug was just re-appointed to his second term on the Board of Directors of the National League of Cities, and also serves on the NLC Finance Committee. Doug currently chairs the NWA Regional Planning Commission, the Boston Mountain Solid Waste District Board, and the Chief Elected Officials of the NWA Economic Development District.
Doug and his wife, Sandy, have 3 married children and 9 grandchildren, all residing in NWA.
