About this Event

Scotland’s people love Scotland’s nature. It’s part of who we are.

We know nature is in trouble, and we urgently need to help it recover. Together, we can help Scotland’s amazing wildlife, habitats and beautiful landscapes to thrive.

Our natural environment is vital to all of us – it sustains our lives, and it’s key to the fight against climate change.

With a new Scottish parliament just elected, now is the moment to turn promises into real change. Earlier this year, Scotland passed the Natural Environment Act — a landmark new law that will bring in legally binding targets to restore nature.

This is our chance to make sure good intentions become actions that protect and restore Scotland’s nature for generations to come.

MSPs from all parties can make a difference. We need our MSPs to stand up for Scotland’s nature!

Come raise your voice with fellow nature lovers, meet MSPs, enjoy inspiring speakers and live music, and be part of a community standing strong for Scotland's nature!

Let’s come together and make sure Scotland’s nature can thrive! 🌿🌍✨

Good to know

Stand Up for Nature is a peaceful, legal demonstration. It is organised by Scottish Environment LINK, a coalition of more than 50 environmental organsiations whose members include WWF Scotland, RSPB Scotland, the Scottish Wildlife Trust and Friends of the Earth Scotland.

What to bring

You don’t have to bring anything. But please feel free to bring your friends and family. If you’d like to make a placard to bring along, go for it!

And, since this is Scotland, please come dressed for the weather.

Want to do more?

Write to your MSPs and tell them you’re coming along.

MSPs will be at the Scottish parliament on Thursday 4 June, and we’d like as many of them as possible to come and join us after First Ministers Questions finishes at 12.45pm.

MSPs are more likely to join our event if they know some their constituents will be there. Send your MSPs an email telling them you’ll be at Stand Up for Nature and asking them to come along. You can find their details by entering your postcode at https://www.parliament.scot/msps.

If you can’t make it

Write to your MSPs telling them you want action to help nature recover. You can find their details by entering your postcode at https://www.parliament.scot/msps.
