About this Event

Imagine your day starting not with a tap, but with a five-mile walk.

Join us for an evening of movement, learning, and creativity in solidarity with the millions of women and girls around the world who walk long distances every day, carrying heavy loads, simply to collect water.

This event is hosted by a Women at the Source ambassador as part of One Drop's global initiative, which aligns with the United Nations' 2026 focus on Water and Gender Equality

This event is free. There is no obligation to donate. It is simply a space to learn, connect, and be part of a growing global conversation.

If the evening moves you and you'd like to go further, Women at the Source has a collective fundraising goal of $40,000 to support One Drop programmes improving water access and women's leadership in communities across Latin America, the Caribbean, and Indigenous communities in Canada — with the potential to double the impact through a 1:1 matching donation.

About One Drop One Drop is an international foundation working since 2007 to ensure sustainable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. Their approach combines infrastructure, behaviour change, and community empowerment to create lasting solutions. https://www.onedrop.org/en/

Agenda

🕑: 06:30 PM - 07:30 PM
Meeting outside ECCI to walk to St Margaret's Loch

Info: We begin with a ~1hour walk to St Margaret's Loch. This walk is symbolic — participants are invited to carry something heavy to reflect the physical reality women face every day. No special kit required, just comfortable shoes and an open mind.

🕑: 07:30 PM - 08:15 PM
One Drop presentation & Q&A

Info: We return to the ECCI where light snacks and refreshments will be waiting in the conference room. We'll tune in live to the One Drop team for a 15-minute presentation on their programmes and impact, followed by a Q&A.

🕑: 08:15 PM - 09:15 PM
Collage & Conversation

Info: Inspired by One Drop's Social Art for Behaviour Change methodology, we'll spend the final part of the evening collaging together in the conference room — exploring questions around water, women, and what change looks like. A creative, reflective, and sociable way to close the evening.
