A COMEDY WRITING WORKSHOP FOR ALL LEVELS
Come away with fresh jokes, a new toolkit for writing more, and a sharper sense of your comic voice. In this 5-hour workshop, Toronto-born comedian and tutor Mike Sheer shows you how to turn ideas, observations and experiences into stand up comedy.
Through exercises, prompts, and chat, you’ll learn Mike’s 4 Comedy Pillars and use them to find and refine material pulled from your own life, weird mind, and the world around you. Rather than trying to create cookie-cutter comics, Mike focuses on bringing out your authentic sense of humour and most unique self.
This workshop for all levels will have you crafting jokes, building bits, and understanding more about what makes and breaks funny. Writing is the backbone of stand up comedy - come put in the real work, in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Mike is a London-based stand up and MC with 20 years' experience performing and teaching around the world.

"I got several ideas while we were working together but the best part for me was realizing that I could actually use some help with it and that there are systems and tips, I don’t have to discover gravity when it comes to how to write more or better." - John
"I have found so many new ways to write and form jokes as well as general ideas, it's brilliant. I'd highly recommend to anyone with any level of experience to go. He's an excellent craftsman who just wants to make jokes work." - Will
