After 27 years in the Netherlands, Rachel Morton-Young has become Dutch enough to understand the culture, but still British enough to question it.
In Dutch Courage, Rachel takes a hilarious and affectionate look at culture clash, identity and belonging. From creative sex education classes and baffling bra-buying techniques to unusual Saints’ Day traditions and Dutch expressions that simply don’t translate, she explores the quirks of her adopted home with warmth, wit and plenty of laughs.
A love letter to the Netherlands from the founder of Mad Cow Comedy and an award-winning comedian, Dutch Courage has been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe for three years running, earning great reviews from both critics and audiences.
Rachel is based in Utrecht and has been performing stand-up since 2017. She was awarded Best Stand-Up by WorldWideComedyAwards.com in 2021 and is a regular performer, MC and comedy producer on the comedy circuit in the Netherlands.
