Duration: 3 weeks
Schedule: 2 hours per session, once per week, Saturdays 12-2pm
Level: Beginner (no prior experience required), ages 12+
Stab Happy! Intro to Needle Felting is a fun, beginner-friendly course where fluffy wool meets lots of creative poking! Participants will learn the basics of needle felting—from flat pictures to simple 3D sculptures—while getting comfortable with tools, materials, and safe felting techniques. Through guided, hands-on projects, participants will build skills, confidence, and a little stab-happy joy as they turn loose wool into unique felted creations of their own.
Week 1: Introduction to Needle Felting & Flat Felting
Saturday January 24, 12:00-2:00pm
Project: Simple Flat Felted Landscape
Understand what needle felting is and how it works
Learn about wool types, felting needles, and felting surfaces
Practice needle safety and proper technique
Explore color blending and basic composition
Week 2: Introduction to 3D Felting
Saturday January 31, 12:00-2:00pm
Project: Simple 3D Mushroom
Transition from flat to sculptural felting
Learn shaping, firming, and joining wool
Understand basic 3D construction
Week 3: Independent Project
Saturday February 6, 12:00-2:00pm
Project: Make Your Own Needle Felting Creation
Plan and complete a small needle felted project independently
Apply learned techniques with instructor support
Build confidence and creative ownership
