Come help restore parts of St. Patrick's Island with our Invasive Plant Pull!
About this Event

Join us for a hands-on adventure in nature as we roll up our sleeves and give St. Patrick’s Island a little TLC! We're teaming up to remove invasive plants—pesky species that crowd out our beautiful native vegetation and make life harder for the birds and wildlife that call the island home.

No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm and a love for the outdoors! We'll provide all the tools, some plant ID tips, and a chance to learn more about the island's natural beauty. It’s a great way to give back, get your hands dirty (in a good way), and enjoy a few laughs with fellow nature lovers.

Expect a little sweat, a lot of satisfaction, and maybe even a few feathered friends cheering you on. Families, friends, and solo volunteers all welcome—this is an all-ages event!

What to Bring:

  • Water bottle
  • Garden gloves (we’ll have extras too)
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • A good attitude and maybe a picnic for after!

Let’s work together to keep this island wild, wonderful, and welcoming to native species!

DATES:

MAY 30, 2026 - 9:30am - 11:30am

JUNE 7, 2026 - 9:30am - 11:30am

We will provide all tools, garbage bags, and safety gear. We will also provide expert guidance on how to identify and remove some of the invasive plants on the island.

These events are presented in partnership between East Village and Nature Calgary, with all registration fees being donated directly to Nature Calgary.
