And at Bierock, the celebration lasts three days long!
SATURDAY MARCH 15: THE REUBEN RETURNS!
It’s the Ides of March! And on this day we’re bringing back our popular Reuben bierock.
Stuffed with corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese, it’s all wrapped inside our freshly-baked bread dough.
It’s then served with a side of our house-made Russian dressing dipping sauce.
Sales start at 11:00 a.m. as doors open.
Then in the evening, we’ve got a performance by Many Names Band, kicking off the St. Patrick’s Day weekend festivities.
Music start time is 8:00 p.m., and there is no cover charge.
SUNDAY MARCH 16: SELECTION SUNDAY!
It’s Selection Sunday, so we’ve got a basketball theme for the day.
First up is the Big Ten men’s basketball conference championship game. Tip off is at 2:30 p.m., and it will be on our big projection screen TV.
Fingers crossed the Wisconsin Badgers will be involved. At the time up publication, Wisconsin is the highest-ranked team in the Big Ten, so it’s certainly within the realm of possibility
Following the Big Ten championship, we’ll turn our attention to the NCAA Tournament selection show. So we’ll find out the where, when and who the Badgers play in the bracket.
Sales of our Reuben bierock conclude at the end of the evening.
MONDAY MARCH 17: ST. PADDY'S DAY!
We’re typically not open on Mondays at Bierock. But on St. Patrick’s Day, we’re making an exception.
The kitchen will be closed, but the bar will be open with multiple Irish-inspired drinks on special.
First up is Guinness, the iconic dry Irish stout on nitro.
The description reads, “Unmistakeably Guiness, from the first velvet sip to the last, lingering drop. And every deep-dark satisfying mouthful in between.”
Ask for a Black & Tan, and we’ll pour a Guinness on top of a carefully-selected pale beer for that perfect combination.
We’ll also have Days Like This from Lion’s Tail Brewing in Neenah, Wisconsin. It’s an Irish red ale conditioned on Irish whiskey-soaked toasted oak spirals from Bushmills.
According to the brewery, “Gentle toasty malt sweetness up front with a dry finish. Subtle caramel, fruit and oaky complexity comes forward as the beer warms. ‘When you don’t need to worry, there’ll be Days Like This.'”
Plus, we've also got Jameson Irish whiskey for both shots and mixers as well. Happy Hour prices are in effect from 3 to 5 p.m.
Because our kitchen is closed on this date, customers will be allowed to bring their own food for this rare occasion.
And we’ll have an Irish-inspired musical playlist as a soundtrack to the day’s festivities.
Doors open at 3:00 p.m. on March 17.
Located at 2911 N. Sherman Ave., Bierock is part of the Northside TownCenter and across the street from Warner Park.
