Watch the Fireflies glow over the farm fields, amidst the Spring flowers, as the sun sets, while you get lost, or found, in the music and community of Ecstatic Dance, at Chasing Fireflies Farm. Let's Move and be Moved!🦋🌈♥️Conscious Clubbing in A2 & Detroit! We provide a Night Club-like nature space with an opening and closing circle to create a Consent based, Substance, Alcohol and Judgement free community to Dance it out, move freely, and let the music be your intoxicant. This is a space to learn to be true to yourself and your needs. If you want to be still and meditate, do yoga, wander in nature, dance, be a curious observer and take it all in, or anything else… then join us to feel more free in your body and mind.

🌻 Admission: $25-$40 sliding scale for financial inclusivity. Based on an honor system. This covers venue rental, facilitation, marketing, sound system, light system, and DJ or Music Curator.

Charity is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, Somatic Therapist, and has a passion for helping people create connection within themselves by offering opportunities to create self trust, and create trusting connections with others, in a safe, empowering group space.

🚜 The Space: Chasing Fireflies farm, is a local Permaculture farm in Ypsilanti, Michigan. We will have indoor space in the barn, and outdoor space surrounding the barn to dance. There is a compost toilet on the property.
Accessibility: If you require a parking spot close to the barn, please let us know in advance. Barn and outdoor area are level, with one step up into the barn. Compost toilet has no steps, but is not ADA accessible.

🎵 We play most music genres: World/International, EDM, Dub, Soul, Funk, Ambient, Trance, House, Indie, Avant-garde, Up tempo, Down tempo, Drum & Bass, and much more.
🌈 All Genders, Non-binary, LGBTQ, body abilities and everyone else is welcome in this safe & non-judgmental atmosphere. Bodies of all abilities are welcome.
👍🏼 👾 👍🏽 All Ages are welcome. However, 16 and younger need to be supervised by an adult that stays present in the space for the entirety of the dance. The space can become very dark, so please plan accordingly with your children’s needs.
💜 Time:
7:00 pm - Check In opens. PLEASE No early entry. Warm up to music and get to know our dance community.
7:30 pm - Check in closes.
7:45 pm- Opening circle,
⭐️ ⏰ No latecomers permitted,
so we can all create a safe space during opening circle.
8:15-9:45- Music & Movement with live set by DJ Ekanti
10:00 pm- Wrap up and head home.
🪭Bring optional items: Bug spray, waving fan, if you think you will be too hot, non flammable flow toys, Water or non-alcoholic beverages, comfortable clothing, and shoes.
🚗 Parking - Free parking on same side of road as the barn.
➡️ DTE will be doing updates in the area. Give yourself extra time to arrive, find a place to park, and walk to the venue.
♥️ Movement & Safety Parameters:
•Set your judgment aside. Judgment usually requires punishment. It can disconnect us from ourselves as individuals, and others. Instead, we invite people to instead use curiosity and discernment to embrace the full emotional and physical human experience of yourself and others.
•Move as you wish - There is no right or wrong way to move in ecstatic dance. You can also choose to not move at all. Listen to your body, and let it do what it needs.
•No Devices- photos and video may be taken before, and after the dance, but please no devices present during opening circle, the dance, and and closing circle.
📸 There may be a photographer present, who will attempt to take photos of only the organizer, DJ, and silhouettes of others. If you are not comfortable with this, you can let us know at check-in, to make sure you are not photographed.
•🚫Sober space. Do not come intoxicated, and do not use intoxicants on the premises , including vaping or smoking. Let the music intoxicate your senses instead.
•Non-conversational during dance - If you must talk to someone, take it out towards the road. This allows the dancers to be fully immersed in the music and their own movements. Singing and vocal expression of emotions during music is welcome, as long as it remains non-conversational.
•Consent based - If you would like to dance with someone, make eye contact and give clear indication. If you do not want to dance with someone, or if you are ready to end dancing with partners, bow out by using Namaste hands. 🙏
• Please refrain from heavy perfumes or scents, as we will be in close proximity to one another and some people have severe allergies. The scent of Marijuana can especially be triggering.
