A celebration of the Spring Equinox and the emergence of life
About this Event

The Spring Equinox has represented the initiation of planting and growth for cultures across millennia.

The Spring Equinox symbolizes rebirth, renewal, and fertility. Although there is some debate about her origins, the German Goddess Ostara was responsible for reawakening the land, sparking creativity, and nourishing new life. Ostara breathed warmth into the wind, inspired the trees to bud, and convinced the snow to leave, as the earth underwent its cycle of rebirth.

The magical seasonal shift into Spring reminds us renewal comes again and again. Ostara reminds us it is the season to be creative and plant new ideas.

No matter what you have been through. No matter how harsh, or how cold things have been, nothing lasts forever. Just like the Earth goes through seasons, so do you.

When life has been cold to you, know that the warm Spring will come once again. Know that just like Mother Earth can rebirth, recreate, and renew herself, so too can you.

Event Details:

Please join us as we welcome the increase of sunshine, warmth, and green growth into our world this year.

Location:

We will be celebrating Ostara at Jillian's house and would be so grateful if you would bless us with your presence.

What to bring:

Please bring a dish to share and if you feel particularly creative, make it a traditional celtic or Spring specific dish. Ostara foods include eggs, honey, lemons, spring greens, oats, and baked goods.

*Please respect the time and energy it takes to host these events. Do not register for this event unless you are committed to attending. Thank you for your consideration.*

What to expect:

- We will share food and laughter together.

- We will have a short time to reflect on the history of this festival and representative Goddess, as well as the meaning of Ostara.

- We will share a time of reflection about the renewal and creation in our own lives, which may include writing, lighting candles, and prayers.

- We will enjoy a fire together, as we embrace the longer Spring evening with a cup of tea and conversation. If desired, we may include a drum circle or draw meaningful messages for one another.

*This is a substance-free event*

*This is an Atheopagan event, yet people from all faith backgrounds are welcomed*
