Spring Break Fun with Caldwell County 4-H 2025

Let's have some fun for Spring Break this year! Both events are limited to 20 participants! Ages 8 and up (exception for parents who would like to attend and can provide transportation, please let me know before you get tickets)

Visit Tuttle Educational State Forest | April 22nd 9 am until 3 pm | Ages 8 & Up

We will go visit Tuttle Educational State Forest and participate in an educational program put on by the Forest Rangers. We will then have a picnic lunch, so please bring a packed lunch and a water bottle! After lunch, we will do a short hike and then return to the extension office. Youths 8 and younger are welcome if accompanied by parents or a guardian!

Bike the Virginia Creeper Trail | April 24th 8 am until 5 pm | Ages 8 & Up

We will leave the office promptly at 8:00 am, to make the 1 and half hour drive. This is a 17-mile downhill bike ride that lasts around 3 hours. We will bike through the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and go over old train tressels! Please bring a packed lunch and water bottle in a drawstring bag or backpack that can be carried while biking. If younger youth want to participate, we ask that a parent come with them, additionally, a wagon for younger children can be rented at an additional cost that attaches behind a bike. The cost is $35 for ages 12 and under and $40 for ages 13 and up. (This includes bike rental and shuttle up to the top of the trail.)This will need to be given in cash or a check written to Caldwell County 4-H before the trip.
