Caldwell County 4-H Summer Exploring 2025

2024 OFFERINGS

Hike | June 6th, 9 am - 3 pm

We will explore local nature. Bring a packed lunch and we will picnic. Water shoes, clothes, and towels are suggested. Please make sure the transportation consent in 4-H online is signed. We will meet at the extension office, 120 Hospital Ave Suite 1, Lenoir NC, 28645 at 9 am. (This is a moderate hike, for ages 10-18)

Horsemanship Camp | June 9-11, 9 am -12 pm

Camp will be June 9-11 from 9 a.m. to noon each day, and youth ages 5-14 are eligible to register. The address is 4912 Carpenter Rd, Granite Falls, NC (near Baton Elementary), and the cost is $50.

Career Explorataion Camp | June 13th, 9 am- 3 pm

Camp will be June 13th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and youth ages 13-18 are eligible to register. We will take a career aptitude test, and explore careers and colleges! Please bring a packed lunch. We will meet at Caldwell County Meeting Rooms, which are below the library in Lenoir. The cost is $5 for instruction and supplies.

Robots and Rockets | June 16th, 9 am -3 pm

Camp will be June 20th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and youth ages 10-18 are eligible to register. We will build robots and rockets! Please bring a packed lunch. We will meet at Caldwell County Meeting Rooms, which are below the library in Lenoir. The cost is $ 15 for instruction and supplies.

Cloverbud Camp | June 18th, 9:00 am -3:00 pm

For ages 5-10. We will meet at the Caldwell Extension Office for a day full of fun activities and crafts. Please bring a packed lunch. Please make sure a transportation waiver is signed as we will be making a trip to a local farm and park. Parents are welcome to attend and drive if they feel more comfortable. The cost is $5 for instruction and supplies.

Gardening Camp | June 20th, 9:00 am -12:00 pm

For ages 5-10. We will meet at the Unity Park and Community Garden to learn from our Extension Master Gardeners. The cost is $5 for instruction and supplies.

Art Camp with Debbie | July 24th-25th, 9:00 am -12:00 pm

For ages 12-18, sessions will be July 24th-25th from 9:00-12:00. We will meet at Caldwell County Meeting Rooms, which are below the library in Lenoir. The cost is $10 for instruction and supplies. (If you feel that you have a mature 10 or 11 year old, you may register them for this camp)

Cloverbud Art Camp | July 9th-10th, 9:00 am -12:00 pm

For ages 5-11, sessions will be July 24th-25th from 9:00-12:00. We will meet at Caldwell County Meeting Rooms, which are below the library in Lenoir. The cost is $10 for instruction and supplies.

Dog Days of Summer | July 15-17, 9:00 am -3:00 pm

For ages 8-18, we will meet at the Extension Office located at the Lenoir Library. We will learn from a dog trainer, and a vet, visit with a K-9 Officer, practice animal first aid, and much more! The cost is $15 for supplies. Please bring a packed lunch. Please make sure a transportation waiver is signed .

If you have issues registering on Eventbrite or enrolling in 4-H Online, please contact the Caldwell County Extension Center at 828-757-1290.

We strongly encourage that youth attend by themselves to get the most out of their learning experience. We do not have that much room in our learning space and invite parents who would like to stay to wait out in the hallway area or go upstairs and enjoy the library. We will be happy to work with you to accommodate your child's needs. Please submit accommodation requests related to a disability to the Extension Center at least three weeks before an event.
