Spring 2025 eDNA Results – Discover What’s Living in Your Local Creek

Join Wildlife Queensland, Resilient Rivers SEQ and Redland City Council for a community workshop sharing the results of the Spring 2025 regional environmental DNA project and a walk and talk along your local creek.

This is your opportunity to learn what species are calling your local waterways home. Using cutting-edge eDNA technology, we can detect the presence of wildlife simply from water samples. This means we’re uncovering a hidden world of biodiversity — from turtles and fish to macroinvertebrates and even microscopic diatoms.

• Explore and discuss key species living in the creek
• Learn how habitat supports different species
• Ask questions and connect with others who care about local waterways
• What to Bring: Hat, water bottle, long sleeve shirt, long pants, must have enclosed shoes suitable for walking along uneven ground

The project is a Resilient Rivers SEQ project funded by the Australian Government, Queensland Government, Council of Mayors (SEQ) and Council’s as part of the South East Queensland City Deal. The Deal is a partnership between the Australian Government, Queensland Government and Council of Mayors (SEQ) delivering long-lasting benefits to the region.
