Meet in Russo Atrium, Hood Museum of Art
Exhibition co-curators Alisa Swindell and Amelia Kahl will give a brief tour of Division of Labor and introduce a screening of Maintenance Artist. Works on view in the exhibition highlight alternative forms of labor, such as domestic work and the arts, alongside larger social and political forces. Free and open to all. No registration necessary. Space is limited to twenty people via registration on our website.

This acclaimed documentary about the first artist-in-residence at NYC’s Department of Sanitation profiles pioneering feminist artist Mierle Laderman Ukeles, who took up the position after writing a manifesto comparing the indignities suffered by women to those endured by sanitation workers.
