Workshop # 3 - For the Everyday Rider
Mental Skills for Confidence, Enjoyment & Long-Term Progress
Feel better on the bike—and enjoy the ride more. Whether you're new to cycling or looking to grow your confidence, this practical session will help you overcome mental setbacks, build motivation, and find more joy in every ride.
Dr. Chris Hartley will introduce simple mental strategies to help you stay consistent, stay confident, and stay connected to the sport you love.
Objectives:
- Boost your confidence, enjoyment, and consistency in riding
- Equip riders with tools to manage fear, self-judgment, and motivation
- To help riders push-past barriers, progress, and build a sustainable long-term relationship with the sport
Series Overview
This series of workshops is a unique opportunity to develop the mental side of cycling this winter.
Join us for three 90-minute workshop tailored for our community: racers, ride leaders/coaches, and amateur riders. Each session will focus on one audience specifically and will offer practical mental skills to enhance performance, boost confidence, and enjoyment on and off the bike.
About Dr Chris Hartley
Dr Chris Hartley is a performance consultant with a doctorate in psychology, specialising in mental skills for confidence, focus, and performance under pressure. He has also spent 20 years riding and racing bikes of all disciplines.
**All proceeds from this series will be donated to the whose mission is to offer and expand access to mental health services for those who otherwise cannot afford it.
