Workshop # 2 - For the Team Behind the Team
Developing the Mental Side of Cycling
Lead with confidence. Support with intention. This workshop will give ride leaders, parents, coaches and mentors the psychological tools to help their groups thrive.
Learn how to build trust, create fun and psychologically safe group rides, and guide riders through fear, setbacks, and mental blocks. Ideal for anyone shaping the culture and confidence of our cycling community.
Objectives:
- Strengthen your leadership capacity in group rides, during coaching, and community events
- Teach ride leaders how to cultivate psychological safety, fun and supportive group dynamics
- Provide coaching tools to help riders overcome fear, self-doubt, setbacks, and plateaus
Series Overview
This series of workshops is a unique opportunity to develop the mental side of cycling this winter.
Join us for three 90-minute workshop tailored for our community: racers, ride leaders/coaches, and amateur riders. Each session will focus on one audience specifically and will offer practical mental skills to enhance performance, boost confidence, and enjoyment on and off the bike.
About Dr Chris Hartley
Dr Chris Hartley is a performance consultant with a doctorate in psychology, specialising in mental skills for confidence, focus, and performance under pressure. He has also spent 20 years riding and racing bikes of all disciplines.
**All proceeds from this series will be donated to the whose mission is to offer and expand access to mental health services for those who otherwise cannot afford it.
