"Families at Home Ed Hub – Anglesey, made up of children of all ages, will be hiking up Yr Wyddfa together on 2nd June 2026 - a first for some of them - to help raise money for our geodome renovation project.
The geodome is a much-loved structure at Coed Llwynonn. It was once beautifully clad in wood and is the perfect space to host circles, mum and baby groups, craft events, and community gatherings. Located at the heart of our meeting spaces at Calon y Coed, it has been a central and cherished part of the woodland setting.
Our plan is to restore it by making it watertight, re-cladding the exterior, installing a raised floor, and adding a log-burning stove to create a warm and welcoming space, even during the colder months.
Once completed, the renovated geodome will open up many new opportunities for the CIC. It will help provide an additional income stream by enabling us to offer that bit more to groups looking to rent the space and make use of the forest environment.
Any funds raised beyond the renovation costs will go towards developing our outdoor kitchen project, which will further expand what we can offer and help ensure the CIC remains a sustainable and supportive resource for the local community."
