Martin Allen has written a musical, Spirit of the River, which is being performed at Ropetackle on 10th June.

It is a story about a small estuary town under threat from developers, in cahoots with local councillors, scheming to blight its pristine environment. They had not, however, anticipated the strength of opposition, led by two feisty, houseboat dwelling ladies. Nor had they reckoned with the mystical powers of the town’s ancient river, or the romantic magic in the air.
Any similarities with actual people or places are entirely coincidental!
The musical is being produced and directed by well known aficionado of opera and musicals, Simon Gray, with musical accompaniment from the inestimable Rock Dogs of Shoreham.
Projected scenery is by James Kingston-Stewart, exhibitor in Adur Arts Trail.
