Discuss Victorian and Edwardian literature, life, culture and conflict while sipping on teas in the gorgeous 1897 Marshall Mansion in this exclusive after dark access to the house. In addition to classic works by the Bronte's, Stevenson, Dickens, Poe and others we will read selections/poetry from rare and out of print books of local or specific interest including books by Delaware and Pennsylvania natives. This is the perfect opportunity to meet new people and get involved in your history lovers community! The book club meets on a Tuesday evening bi-monthly. For this first meeting we will be discussing The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, what some consider the first mystery/thriller ever written, and selecting a book for July. If you won't have time to read The Woman in White, please still attend as we will chat generally about favorite Victorian literature, tropes and trends in the writing of that era. For more information and to register, call 302-729-4280. Free!
