Welcome to SPEED FRIENDING at Dovetail Cafe / Duluth Folk School! Everyone will meet everyone one-on-one. And by the time we finish, we'll all have more more acquaintances than we did before! Hurray!This is an event for everyone. We've held over FIFTY of these events, and so we can say: we want you here!
Whether you'll consider yourself an introvert or extrovert, young or old, from near or far (or somewhere in-between all those) -- you'll have a good time at these friendly and facilitated events.
We'll start EXACTLY at 5:45pm, and you won't be able to join after that point! We will also limit attendance to 32 people for audio reasons. (It can get unpleasantly loud otherwise.)

Q. What is Speed Friending?
A. Speed Friending is like Speed Dating, only way, way better! We talk to someone one-on-one for a few minutes. When the host yells "SWITCH!", we rotate chairs and talk to someone else one-on-one. We do this until everyone has met everyone!
Q. Is the goal to make friends?
A. Maybe! But the focus isn't on finding new "best friends" -- it's about casually meeting a wide variety of new people. We're foremost helping neighbors meet neighbors! (People who come regularly often do find friends, though.)
Q. Meeting lots of people quickly sounds scary. Is it scary?
A. Nope! You might have some anxiety beforehand your first time, but that's normal! People, including introverts, tend to find this to be an accessible, rewarding, and interesting way of connecting with others. You probably will too!
Q. How much does it cost?
A. It's free! (But donations to Duluth Folk School are welcomed.)
