Join artist and instructor Alison Aune for a fun, hands-on afternoon of apple painting! Participants will create a mixed-media painting on canvas, exploring color, texture, and creative techniques inspired by one of fall's most iconic fruits.
This class is open to all skill levels and is a chance to experiment, make something of your own, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of art at SOLCA.
Participants will also have the option to submit their finished work to SOLCA's annual Apple Cider Fest community art show.
WHAT YOU'LL GAIN
-Explore painting and mixed-media techniques
-Create an original apple-inspired artwork
-The opportunity to exhibit your finished piece in SOLCA's Apple --Cider Fest community art show
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Alison Aune holds a B.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an M.A. from the University of Minnesota Duluth, and a Ph.D. from Ohio University. She served as education coordinator at the Tweed Museum of Art before joining UMD's Department of Art and Design as a professor of art education.
Her Nordic-inspired paintings have been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the American Swedish Institute, Norway House, Vesterheim Norwegian Museum, and museums and galleries in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Italy, and Estonia.
