About this Event
Join us at the Delta Flight Museum for an inspiring afternoon of public speaking as young people from across metro Atlanta take the stage to share their perspectives on freedom and the causes they believe in.
On November 5, 2026, contestants aged 15–25 will compete in the Speech Contest for the opportunity to represent the United States on the Freedom Prize International Jury and take part in two fully funded trips to France in 2027.
What to Expect
Each contestant will have 3–4 minutes to deliver a speech addressing:
- What freedom means to them
- A cause, issue, or fight that matters personally to them
- Their vision for a more peaceful and free world
- Today's challenges surrounding freedom, peace, democracy, and human rights
The speakers will be invited to demonstrate their ability to communicate confidently, defend their ideas, and engage an audience.
About the Freedom Prize
Created by the Normandy Region in France, the Freedom Prize honors an individual or organization whose commitment to freedom, peace, and human rights inspires young people around the world.
Rooted in the legacy of the D-Day landings, the prize brings together young people from across the globe to reflect on today's challenges and celebrate those who stand up for freedom.
The Atlanta Speech Contest is an opportunity to bring that spirit of dialogue and civic engagement to young people in the United States.
