SPECTRA Lives!
The Quad Cities’ longest running reading series launches the newest books in the Foster-Stahl Chapbook Series: Witch's Mouth by Brittany N. Jaekel and Pineapple Darling by Jenna Goldsmith on Thursday, May 28 at Rozz-Tox (2108 3rd Ave. Rock Island, IL).
An Open Mic will begin at 7pm where anyone is welcome to perform a single 3-minute set (acoustic only) on a first-come, first-served basis.
At 8pm, our featured readers will take the stage and read from their new releases, which will be available for sale at the event.

Space is limited for this special event. SPECTRA events are forever free and open to the public, with a $5 suggested donation to support future SPECTRA Reading Series events.

Brittany N. Jaekel writes from the outer reaches of the Twin Cities, where she works as a medical writer and curates a growing collection of cat art and coffee mugs. She is the creative nonfiction editor at Great Lakes Review, and her work has appeared in RHINO, Mom Egg Review (MER), The MacGuffin, Gone Lawn, $ – Poetry Is Currency, and elsewhere. JENNA GOLDSMITH is a poet, writer, and educator living in
the Midwest. Her first full-length poetry collection, The Worse
for Wear (Cornerstone Press/UW Stevens Point) was published
in January 2026. She directs the Oregon State University
Cascades low-residency MFA Program in Writing and was City
Poet Laureate of Rockford, Illinois from 2023–2025.
